3M™Core Grouping Software MS assigns a DRG to each patient based on data from hospital discharge records. It is especially useful in calculating some of the AHRQ (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) indicators.

It has 758 DRGs divided into 25 Diagnostic Categories (DMCs)

Each CMD groups together patients with diseases of an organ or system of the human body such as the digestive system, the circulatory system, the respiratory system, etc.

Types of DRGs

DRGs (Diagnostic and Referral Groups):

These groups patients with a similar disease.

Surgical DRGs:
These groups include patients who have undergone a similar surgical procedure.
